July 3, 2024 / Announcement

Go Vote on the 4th of July!

Make a difference this July 4th by voting at your local polling station. With over 25,000 Muslims in Liverpool, your vote is crucial in shaping a fair and inclusive future. Don't forget your Voter ID and make your voice heard!

Make History, Make Change

A reminder of great importance:

  • Go to your local polling station on the 4th of July to vote
  • Polling day timing – 7am to 10pm
  • Bring your Voter ID such as: Driving/Provisional license, Passport,  Identity card, Proof of age card etc

Vote for the right candidate!

Why vote?

There are many reasons why you should vote. Here are some:

  1. It is your democratic right to vote. Use it. Remember it is a right denied to millions of people around the world.
  2. Voting gives you the power to create change – e.g. if you believe that the Press unfairly targets Muslims, then vote for politicians who will enact the legislation to make the Press change their behaviour.
  3. Voting gives you the power to preserve/protect your Human Rights to practice your faith, so if you want to keep the right to wear hijab, send your children to faith schools and eat halal meat etc. then you need to vote for politicians who will stand up for these rights.
  4. Hold your Politicians accountable. They represent you. Only by voting can you  ensure that people who represent your interests are elected.

With over 25,000 Muslims in Liverpool equating to nearly 5% of the total population in Liverpool, it’s imperative for us to be proactive Muslims in society and one of the best ways if not the best is to exercise our right to vote.

So if you live in Liverpool Riverside, Wavertree, Walton, Garston & Halewood, West Derby, check beforehand your candidates and on the 4th of July rethink about who will be the best candidate for you and the community.

Only 3 days are left! Go vote and make the change you want to see and empower our young folks in engaging in politics.
